myHermes launches international service targeted at SMEs
myHermes, has announced the launch of its new international delivery service, which it says will help smaller UK retailers and online marketplace traders to economically ship items to 190 countries. According to myHermes, its new international service will work out at 31% or £12.51 cheaper than Royal Mail when sending an individual 1kg parcel to Australia and 12% or £1.55 lower for a 1kg parcel heading to Germany.
The company said that it launched the new service to reflect the continuing growth in cross-border e-commerce.
“The move comes in response to the latest myHermes research that revealed an average of 78% of shoppers across the UK, France and Germany have made an online purchase from a foreign retailer,” explained myHermes. “The UK also topped the poll of countries that French and German shoppers have bought from and the new service will provide an opportunity for SMEs to capture the new wave of online consumers who are ordering from overseas websites.”
Carole Woodhead, CEO of myHermes, added: “The demand for UK products, especially fashion items, is high and continues to grow so we wanted to develop a service that provides smaller businesses with seamless access to as many countries as possible.”
myHermes said that the new international service forms part of the “portfolio of products to its SME clients”, adding that “additional features will be added to the service later in the year designed to streamline how clients process large volumes of parcels”.
