Palletways secures Better Bathrooms contract extension

Palletways has secured a contract extension with Better Bathrooms, the UK’s largest independent bathroom and tile retailer. Palletways has been announced as the main haulier for the retailer and expects to move around 100,000 pallets a year for the firm. The logistics company will work alongside Better Bathrooms’ in-house delivery fleet with home deliveries in the UK and across Europe, via orders placed in store and online. Palletways will also support the retailer’s warehousing team at its new Southern distribution hub in Didcot.

Colin Stevens, Founder and CEO of Better Bathrooms, said: “It’s a great pleasure to continue working with Palletways.  We feel they are a great extension to our business in helping us fulfil our multi-site operation.”

Rob Gittins, sales director for Palletways (UK) Ltd, added: “We have been working with Better Bathrooms for a number of years and we’re thrilled to have been retained as their logistics partner. We have the ability to react to significant peaks and troughs in any client’s business;  our sophisticated information technology processes goods and sorts it into designated areas within the hub – efficiencies which helps Better Bathrooms meet its promise of rapid and next day delivery, which is a particular advantage when dealing with demand in the consumer market.

“This contract extension is a great coup for the business and is testament to the first class service all of our customers, including Better Bathrooms, have come to expect from us.”

Leigh-based Better Bathrooms has distribution centres in Leigh and Didcot with stores in Slough, Leicester, York, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan and Romford. Better Bathrooms is set to open new showrooms in Edinburgh and Cardiff in June.

Palletways started trading 20 years ago and now has a turnover of some £200m. The company delivers over 7 million pallets annually to 14 European countries through a network of 12 hub operations and more than 400 depots. In the UK one in every four pallets handled by palletised freight networks is distributed by Palletways.
