Amazon teams up with Jet for parcel lockers

Amazon teams up with Jet for parcel lockers

Starting this week, UK-based Amazon shoppers will be able to collect their purchases from parcel lockers located in Jet petrol stations. According to reports, Jet stations in Doncaster, Cleveland, Tyne and Wear, Middlesex and Glasgow will be among the first to take part in the roll out.

Amazon already has more than 300 parcel locker sites in the UK – but the addition of a petrol station chain like Jet is seen as important, because it offers sites which are both accessible and secure on a round-the-clock basis.

There are around 330 Jet-branded petrol stations in the UK, and they are run by independent operators. Having Amazon parcel lockers on their forecourts should attract more drivers to the stations, who may then decide to buy petrol or goods from the shops to make their pit stop worthwhile.
