Surrey hospital trust leases Neopost franking system

St Peter’s Hospital, part of the Surrey-based Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has leased a Neopost IS-6000 franking and mailing system to manage the Trust’s outgoing post. The Trust has used the change to the IS-6000 – which can process up to 260 letters per minute – to streamline postal services, reducing costs by centralising outgoing mail at the St Peter’s Hospital site.

The system’s dynamic scale automatically categorises mail based on shape and weight and accurately rates mail at speeds up to 140 letters per minute.

John Sermon, the Travel Plan Coordinator for the Trust, said: “We have about 3,400 staff across the two sites with 550 hospital beds, so it’s a big operation. We’re processing about £10,000 of outgoing post a month and the IS-6000 manages that volume with no problems.”
