Deutsche Post acquires whole stake in Servisco

Servisco parcel service has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Post (DP), which has bought the remaining 40 percent stake in the leading company on the Polish market. According to DP representatives Poland as a EU candidate country has become an important business and trade partner for the German company and provides a bridge to further expansion in Eastern Europe. Messenger Service Stolica president Zbigniew Twardowski believes that his company operates in a different segment of the market, but the situation may change with the liberalisation of postal law, when Deutsche Post may pose a threat to Polish Post’s Pocztex service.
