Escher and An Post to digitally deliver licence and permits application system
Escher Group Holdings and An Post (the Irish Post Office) have been awarded a contract to digitally deliver Ireland’s National Licence & Permits applications system for enterprises. The service, which will be based on Escher’s digital transaction management platform RiposteTrEx and hosted by An Post, will provide a one-stop-shop cloud service that will enable enterprises to apply for government licences and permits digitally.
The system will initially be delivered in the retail sector, which includes 29 core licences across 40 public sector licensing authorities, including over 30 local authorities.
According to a statement issued by Escher today (24 August): “It is envisaged that this system would then be expanded to include other licences in key sectors of the economy and involve other licensing authorities as the Integrated Licensing Application System is rolled out.”
The Licence & Permits service is planned to be operational later this year.
The contract was awarded following a competitive tender run by the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA).
Liam Church, CEO of Escher Group, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract in partnership with An Post demonstrating our capabilities in the provision of outsourced Government services. It further validates Escher’s investment in our digital transaction management software which is now licensed in the U.K, South Africa and Ireland.
“We believe that there is growing demand for digital transaction management services in both Government and enterprises and look forward to continuing to build our expertise in this area.”
