UPS Taiwan upgrades services and announces new MD
UPS has appointed Wayne Pi as managing director of UPS Taiwan, and has also announced a range of “service enhancements” which it says will improve shipping times between Taiwan, Asia and Europe. The company said that the new service improvement include:
- Extending cut-off times up to three hours to tender shipments for exports from six cities in Taiwan (Hsinchu, Kaoshiung, Taichung, Tainan, Taipei and Taoyuan) to Asian destinations. According to UPS: “Taiwanese exporters shipping to Asian and European cities now enjoy the industry’s latest cut-off time of 7p.m.”
- One-day improvement of time-in-transit for shipments from Europe and Asia to three cities (Kaohsiung, Taichung and Tainan) in the non-metropolitan areas of Taiwan. Shipments from European and Asian origins now reach key cities in the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas in one to two days.
- Extending the UPS Express service between European and Asian cities to three cities in Taiwan (Hsinchu, Taipei, and Taoyuan). This guaranteed, time-definite service allows shipments to reach metropolitan areas by noon.
Pi was previously the Director of the UPS Asia-Pacific Hub in Shenzhen. A 21-year veteran of UPS, Pi is now back in Taiwan where he started his UPS career as a Gateway Assistant in 1994. Pi takes over from Anita Li, who is now the Supply Chain Operations Director for UPS North Asia District and based in Hong Kong.
