Hermes wins Poundland delivery contract

Hermes has won a contract to provide online delivery services for the discount retailer Poundland. As previously reported by Post&Parcel, Poundland announced the launch of its trial online shopping service earlier this week.

Under the terms of the agreement, Hermes will provide a 4-5 working day delivery service to all of Poundland’s UK-based consumers. The new online store offers over 2,000 products, including a mixture of household brands and Poundland’s unique ranges. The service will have no minimum order value and a flat £4 delivery fee per order will apply. Orders over £50 receive free delivery.

Jim McCarthy, Poundland’s Chief Executive, said: “The online shopping market is a rapidly growing channel and one which could provide a significant potential opportunity for us. This trial is an important first step towards giving more customers access to our amazing value.”
