Government prepares privatization of mail services

The Ecuadorian state modernization council Conam prepares for November the privatization of the mail service Servicio Nacional de Correos. The future operator will have a 20 years concession to render mail services and implement an investment program. Conam hired Arthur Andersen to evaluate the assets of the mail service and should fix a price for them. Among the prospective bidders for the mail service are Canada Post International, Correos de Espana, TNT Holland, and Le Poste.
