Flipkart plans major investment in logistics

Flipkart’s co-founder and COO Binny Bansal has revealed that the Indian e-commerce player plans to make significant investments in its logistics and warehouse over the next few years. Local media have quoted Bansal as saying that the company is looking to pump about $500m into expanding its warehousing capacity over the next four to five years, in order to build up a network of 80-100 fulfilment centres across India.

“Investments for logistics will be much bigger,” Bansal reportedly added. “It will be more than a couple of billion dollars. It is a very long term investment plan over the next five to six years.”
