Amazon Prime Now comes to Newcastle
Amazon is continuing the expansion of its Prime delivery services in the UK, with an announcement today that Prime Now has come to Newcastle and surrounding postcodes including Gateshead, Durham and Sunderland. The service, launched in London and Birmingham earlier this year, offers Prime members the option of a one-hour delivery for £6.99, or free delivery with a choice of two-hour, same-day delivery slots between 8am and midnight, seven days a week.
“We’re thrilled to expand our one-hour delivery service to Newcastle, our latest Prime Now city in the UK,” said Christopher North, Managing Director at Amazon.co.uk. “We have already received great response from Prime Now customers in London and Birmingham.”
Announcements about the expanding coverage for the varions Prime delivery options in the UK have been coming thick and fast.
Just yesterday (18 November), Amazon announced that its Prime Same Day delivery service (launched in London at the start of the month) is now available to residential addresses in Birmingham, Bristol, Dudley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
It is, of course, no coincidence that the roll-out is taking place just in time for the big Black Friday push.
