Barcelona on-demand delivery start-up Glovo picks up €2m in funding

Barcelona-based on-demand local delivery start-up company Glovo has picked up €2m in its latest funding round. According to a report published today on TechCrunch, investors in the round include Zaryn Dentzel, Bernardo Hernandez, Felix Ruiz, Antai Venture Builder, and Cube Investments.

Glovo started operations in March, and aims to deliver goods and food from shops and restaurants to the user’s doorstep “in less than an hour”.

Glovo currently charges a flat delivery fee of €5.50 with no mark-up on the price of the product purchased but Glovo co-founder Sacha Michaud reportedly told TechCrunch that the company will be working with premium partners and charging them a commission of products purchased.
