Industry Leaders Form Mailing Industry CEO Council

Senior executives from leading U.S. companies have joined together to form the Mailing Industry CEO Council, a non-profit organization that will focus on unifying the mailing industry and promoting the critical role that mail plays in business and commerce.
The Mailing Industry CEO Council is a unique cross-section of business leaders representing companies which have a major stake in the future of the mail channel.

According to Council President and Pitney Bowes Chairman and CEO Michael J. Critelli, “Action is critical to raise awareness of the serious challenges facing our postal system and the need for reform. The Mailing Industry CEO Council will work to establish public policies and industry standards that will foster industry growth.”

“The scope and economic importance of the mailing industry is often overlooked and its future misunderstood,” said Mr. Critelli. “The mail is a vital channel for business and commerce, generating approximately $900 billion and employing more than 9 million people and representing more than 8% of our gross national product. The mission of the CEO Council is to unify the industry, promote the value of mail, and to collectively lobby for public policies that will enable this industry to continue to thrive.”

According to Council Secretary and Treasurer and ADVO, Inc. Chairman and CEO Gary M. Mulloy, “The nation’s commerce depends upon a strong, vibrant and efficient mail channel. The CEO Council will work to ensure our public policymakers understand the need for transformation of the postal system.”
