Flipkart buys stake in MapmyIndia

Flipkart has bought a minority stake in MapmyIndia, an online digital map platform that enables GPS navigation, tracking and location-based apps. Local sources report that Flipkart, one of India’s biggest e-commerce players, will use MapmyIndia’s technology to strengthen its pick-up and delivery operations, and offer services like real-time tracking and theft-minimisation through geo-fencing.

MapmyIndia will also continue to function independently and serve its consumers and enterprises customers across all industries.
