New VP for Bell and Howell

Ramesh Ratan, CEO of Bell and Howell, has announced that the company has hired Mark Durrett as its new vice president of marketing. Based out of the company’s headquarters in Durham, Durrett will oversee Bell and Howell’s activities in demand generation, market intelligence, brand development and corporate communications.

Durrett has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, product management and engineering leadership roles with entrepreneurial growth-stage technology companies. Most recently, he served as vice president of marketing and product management at cyber-threat intelligence startup Emerging Threats, which was acquired in 2015 by Proofpoint.

Durrett’s distinguished career also includes serving as vice president of marketing at Overture Networks, founding publisher-editor of CarrierEthernetNews.com, and global marketing co-chair of the Metro Ethernet Forum. He has designed and marketed technology solutions for industry pioneers such as Hatteras Networks (which he also co-founded), Covelight Systems, NetEdge Systems, and Wandel & Goltermann.

“Bell and Howell has completed its turnaround to profitability and is now investing in growth initiatives,” said Ratan. “I look forward to Mark’s leadership in marketing to help drive that.”
