Small businesses braced for last-minute sales surge, claims eBay

A new study of online business sentimental by eBay has suggested that almost a third (28%) of small UK businesses are “braced for a last minute surge in sales in the coming fortnight “. In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (21 December), eBay added: “In a sign of how just significant the Christmas trading period is, 40% of small business owners will work through the holidays.”

Importantly, the eBay survey also reported: “Over half (56%) of those small online businesses spoken to as part of the study expressed confidence in fulfilment services to deliver their products on time.”

The Small Business Optimism Index is eBay’s regular barometer of companies trading on the internet and it is based on a survey of 400 online retailers.
