UPS announces new General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
UPS has appointed Norman M. Brothers, Jr. as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Brothers, who will report directly to UPS Chief Executive Officer David Abney, will join the UPS Management Committee, the company’s senior-most leadership group.
“Norm has demonstrated tremendous leadership in the 15 years since joining our Legal team,” says UPS Chief Executive Officer David Abney. “His experience in diverse legal areas and understanding of our business will be key as he works as part of the leadership team to maintain the high standards we’ve set for our company.”
Brothers joined UPS in 2000 and most recently served as the company’s Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.
Before joining UPS, Brothers was a military prosecutor in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and practised at the international law firm King & Spalding. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and law degree from Emory University School of Law. (See Brother’s biography attached.)
Also on 1 January 1, Teri McClure, currently Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President, Human Resources, will devote her time fully to the development of the company’s human capital strategy in the role of Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources and Labor.
