Amazon starts hyperlocal grocery delivery service in Bengaluru

Amazon has started offering its “Amazon Now” hyperlocal grocery delivery service in select areas in Bangalore, according to local sources. As Post&Parcel reported last month, local sources have been buzzing with reports that Amazon intends to expand its Kirana Now offering into a fully-fledged grocery delivery service which – after a Bengaluru try-out – will be rolled out to major cities across India.

A report published on Trak.In today (3 February ) said that while Amazon has not made an official announcement as yet, “the Android app of Amazon Now has gone live and is catering to  74 pin codes in Bangalore”.

The Trak.In report said that the service went live on Monday (1 February), and also claimed: “As a launch promotion, Amazon is offering Express Delivery (within 2 hours) and Scheduled Delivery (for same day or next day) completely free of cost.”
