Sainsbury’s given deadline extension for Home Retail bid

Sainsbury’s has been given more time to raise its offer for Home Retail Group – the owner of Argos – after the South Africa-based Steinhoff trumped its provisional bid on Friday. As previously reported, Sainsbury’s had been set a deadline of 17:00 today (23 February) to submit a firm offer. Now, however, it has been give an extension until 18 March – which is the same deadline that Steinhoff has to work with.
