Argos and eBay to discontinue drop-off pilot

The pilot service which enabled eBay consumer sellers to despatch their items by dropping them off at a participating Argos stores is drawing to a close – but the click & collect partnership continues. In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today, an eBay spokesperson said: “Argos and eBay will be discontinuing the ‘drop-off’ pilot  on 1 February 2017 – a programme that enables sellers to ship sold items from selected Argos stores.

“The service was available at 150 Argos stores and is part of an innovation programme to give buyers and sellers more choice and convenience.

“This does not affect the click and collect programme which recently surpassed 10 million items being collected through the service.”
