India’s BECK Technology Ventures launches crowdsourced delivery service
BECK Technology Ventures has reportedly launched a new service called BECK Friends, which the company hopes will use crowdsourcing to provide a global parcel delivery service. Users who want to send parcels across India or abroad input their required pick-up and delivery details, and then other users who want to make the delivery can use the website to get in touch. Once the prospective courier is approved by the sender, numbers are exchanged through SMS .
Deep Malhotra, co-founder, BECK Technology Ventures, was quoted by The Times of India as saying: “We would like to disrupt the current logistics ecosystem through a habit-changing technology. A person’s time is always valued more than money, and if we are able to give them a solution that values their time and also offers convenience, we are home. It is the kind of product that will have an organic growth as it is connecting users for a mutual benefit, and anything that grows organically is a good long-term business to be in.”
According to the TOI, BECK is already operating an on-demand delivery app in Mumbai.
