D.E.S. reports 67% of wholesale customers signing up to PostPort
Direct Entry Solutions (D.E.S.) has reported that 67% of its wholesale customers have now signed up to its new PostPort mail solution. Piloted in October and officially launched in January, PostPort is a mail visibility platform created by D.E.S. to give wholesalers the capability to monitor where their domestic and international mailings are in the distribution process.
Explaining the rationale behind the system, Phil Coleman, Chief Executive of D.E.S., said: “We wanted to give our wholesale customers much more than just dispatch handling.
“We thought wholesalers would prefer a clear understanding of where their shipment is in the transport chain with information on the exact times their vehicles arrive at each destination, including crucially when the mail hits the postal system of the destination country.”
They system has been created for printers, mailing houses, fulfilment centres and mail consolidators.
Coleman added: “We created PostPort with our customers’ Operations, Customer Service and Finance functions in mind.
“If we can get mail from A-Z, with everything monitored in between, then potential discrepancies can be seen and dealt with easily by Operations and Customer Service, resulting in happier end-customers.”
PostPort is available across a range of priority, non-priority and customised untracked mail and is aligned to the Interconnect formats and operations procedures allowing for posting heavyweight catalogues and publications and sending ecommerce goods up to 30mm in thickness.
D.E.S. said that a new version of PostPort with increased functionality is planned for later this year, including an API for customers to automatically upload pre-alerts from their existing system and a customer report function.
