Kuehne + Nagel to manage e-commerce centre for Unilever brand

Kuehne + Nagel has been chosen by Unilever for the storage and order fulfilment of its recently introduced tea-brewing machine launched under the brand of T.O by Lipton. The service scope includes warehousing and distribution services out of the fulfilment centre in Contern, Luxembourg, as well as a range of value added services.

In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (29 April)), Kuehne + Nagel said: “These services include customised packaging to maximise process efficiency and minimise waste. For order processing a pick-by-light system has been implemented to ensure fast processing times and real time visibility of order status.

Kuehne + Nagel said that it will manage the distribution to the end consumers using “a flexible network of European parcel integrators”.

Gianfranco Sgro, member of the Management Board of the Kuehne + Nagel International AG, responsible for Contract Logistics, commented: “We are pleased to expand our global partnership with Unilever by implementing the European fulfilment centre for T.O by Lipton. Kuehne + Nagel strategically addresses the logistics needs of global consumer customers through its Centre of Excellence for e-commerce, which develops state-of-the-art supply chain solutions specifically designed for omni-channel business.”
