Pitney Bowes and ShipCenter offer cross-border shipping solution to Kickstarter creators

Pitney Bowes Inc. and ShipCenter have joined forces to offer Kickstarter creators an end-to-end solution for shipping rewards to their backers in 66 countries. Kickstarter is a global funding platform for creative projects, which helps artists, musicians, filmmakers, and designers find the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality.

ShipCenter has developed a solution which leverages Pitney Bowes’s Borderfree Marketplace to provide Kickstarter creators with an international shipping rate card with all costs calculated upfront for each shipment including duties, taxes and shipping fees.

The solution also offers “deeply discounted” international shipping rates and Pitney Bowes handles country-specific export compliance and customs documentation, making international shipping easy.

Lila Snyder, Executive Vice President and President, Global Ecommerce, Pitney Bowes, commented: “This is the first time our global ecommerce software and shipping services are being leveraged outside of the retail industry and we look forward to delivering a rich, end-to-end, cross-border shipping experience.”

Sean Lynch, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, ShipCenter, added: “With Pitney Bowes’s guaranteed, upfront calculation of international shipping costs along with ShipCenter’s LTL and U.S. domestic small parcel offering, Kickstarter creators can have control over their delivery expenditures before packages even leave their hands.

“In addition, our solution provides Kickstarter creators with a single source for all of their international and domestic shipments.”
