TNT distributes Brazilian Souza Cruz cigarettes

The multinational logistic services company TNT inked a five-year contract to distribute the products of the Brazilian tobacco producer Souza Cruz. TNT is taking over the management of the Souza Cruz distribution center based in Curitiba (Parana state), and will be responsible for the delivery of 120mil cigarettes per month to 4,000 points of sale in the city. TNT might end 2002 with a turnover near of R$230mil, an increase of 15% in comparison with 2001. The car industry will account for 85% of the income, while electronic products will be responsible for 15%. With the new contracts, the company expects to boost the turnover in 25% in 2003.
