Unite pay talks: Royal Mail makes improved offer

Royal Mail has announced, that following further discussions with the union Unite, it has today (27 May) made an improved offer and has also committed to further talks going forward; and Unite has responded by cancelling the strike action planned for next week. In a statement issued to Post&Parcel today, Royal Mail added: “In addition to further discussions specifically around pay, we have committed to a two-day meeting on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 June around a list of concerns and challenges from Unite on terms and conditions, ways of working and learning and development.

“On the basis of further talks next week, Unite has cancelled the strike action on Tuesday 31 May 2016 and Wednesday 1 June 2016.”
