Swiss Post welcomes rejection of “Pro Service public” initiative

Swiss Post has welcome the decision by the Swiss electorate to reject the “Pro Service public” initiative, which proposed that bosses of big public sector companies should not earn more than government ministers. The Swiss people got to vote on the initiative in a referendum held yesterday (Sunday, 5 June) and 68% rejected the proposal. (The Swiss voters also gave a 77%-23% rejection to a proposal to introduce a guaranteed basic income for all.)

In a statement posted on its website yesterday (5 June), Swiss Post said it “interprets the vote as a show of faith in a sustainable universal service”. Swiss Post added that it “will do its best to continue providing a high-quality universal postal service throughout Switzerland at reasonable prices”.
