UberEATS comes to London

Uber’s food delivery app UberEATS is now available in London. The service went live on Thursday (16 June) and, according to notice posted on the Uber blog, 150 London restaurants – including The Good Life Eatery, Hotbox, Chilango, Pho, Comptoir Libanais, Snog – are participating.

The service will initially be available in Central London from 11am to 11pm, seven days a week.

There has already been a lot of talk in the UK parcel industry about “Uberfication” of deliveries – and the arrival of UberEATS could be the harbinger for the UK launch of the UberRUSH  courier service, which is currently restricted to just a handful of big US cities.

The London food/meal delivery business is already competitors, with existing players like Deliveroo. US-based Postmates also indicated last year that it was mulling an expansion to London.
