Reorganisation of delivery: concrete action plans after intensive consultations in the field (La Poste Belgium)

Following the difficulties encountered in certain pilot offices where the new organisation of mail delivery has been launched, La Poste has developed concrete actions plans with a view to achieving greater efficiency and coherence.

La Poste emphasises that the success of their new organisation is only possible with the co-operation of their employees and their representatives and that this new organisation must take account first and foremost of the human aspect.

The following lessons have been learnt by taking on board comments from people working in the field:

The human approach must remain at the heart of each stage of the reorganisation process. The instruments used do not take precedence over the men and women comprising the workforce, but are at their service.
A concrete action plan, per pilot office, has been developed after intensive consultations in the field.
These action plans are developed under the direct responsibility of the men and women in the field.
These action plans will be elaborated in the 30 pilot offices with the active participation of the regional and/or local consultation committees.
The aim of these plans is to put forward appropriate solutions in order to solve rapidly at local level the practical difficulties that have emerged. La Poste will then improve the delivery scenarios of the pilot offices by taking into consideration these solutions.

La Poste emphasises the need to continue to work with all their employees on the reorganisation of the delivery of mail, which is one of the key projects in their preparations for a liberalised postal environment.
