La Poste announces postal rate increase

Le Groupe La Poste has announced that it will be raising postal prices from 1 January next year. In a statement posted on its website on Friday (29 July), the company said that the price of “la lettre verte” (a green letter) will increase from €0.70 to €0.73, while a “timbre prioritaire” (priority mail) stamp will rise from €0.80 to €0.85.

Le Groupe La Poste said that the price increases were need to maintain the universal service in the face of declining mail volumes.
