German parcel delivery market to double by 2025

The German parcel delivery market is likely to double in size by 2025, according to a report published by McKinsey. The McKinsey report, entitled “Parcel Delivery: The Future of Last Mile” and published this month, also indicated that same-day delivery and instant delivery will then account for more than 20% of the market.

The report also looked at the likely growth of new delivery options, such as drones, droids, driverless and parcel lockers and advised readers: “Get ready for a world where autonomous vehicles deliver 80% of parcels.”
