Macfarlane wins Polestar position

Macfarlane Transport is celebrating its 24th birthday this week with a £20m contract win and a move to new 12.5-acre depot.
The company has won a major five-year deal with Polestar Group, Europes largest independent printing company. The contract involves the nationwide movement of printed material between print sites, binders and final destinations. Macfarlane Transport already has a significant presence in the magazine distribution industry.
The new premises, built on a greenfield site just a few miles east of Leeds, replace the company’s two previous depots at calverly Bridge and Gildersome. They are adjacent to J45 of the M1, on the proposed East Leeds Link Road, which is due for completion late in 2003.
