Weengs funding

London-based delivery startup Weengs has reportedly picked up £2.2m in funding. According to a report published on TechCrunch, investors taking part in the round included LocalGlobe, Seedcamp, and Germany’s Cherry Ventures.

Weengs has created a delivery app for small retailers and online sellers. Customers take a photograph of the items they wish to  send, add the destination address, and request a pickup.

A Weengs “Angel” then picks up the item “within the hour” (from Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 16:00). Weengs packages the item, deals with the paperwork and ships the parcel using carriers including DHL, DPD and Royal Mail.

Weengs has two pricing schemes. The standard service costs £5 per pickup plus shipping rates. Weengs also offers a Business service, designed for sellers with more than 20 shipments a month.
