Flirtey conducts first Silicon Valley drone delivery

Flirtey has announced that it has made its first drone delivery in California’s technology hotbed, Silicon Valley. The drone delivered a package to Mark Siegel, the managing partner of Menlo Ventures and a seed-round investor in Flirtey. The delivery was conducted during Menlo Ventures’ 40th annual meeting.

“Completing drone deliveries in the heart of Silicon Valley demonstrates that Flirtey is poised to take drone delivery to the mainstream consumer market in urban centres all across the US and around the globe,” said Matthew Sweeny, Flirtey CEO.

Flirtey has previously conducted the first Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved drone delivery on US soil in collaboration with NASA Langley Research Center, as well as the first fully autonomous drone delivery from a store to a home in partnership with 7-Eleven. The company has also made deliveries of Domino’s pizza in New Zealand.
