Russia now has around 6,600 public-access internet terminals in post offices across the country, says Ilya Genkin of the postal-services department of the Russian Communications Ministry.
This represents a six-fold increase from the start of 2002.
An initiative to have public internet access at all of Russias 40,000 post offices was started in August, 2001.
