Chronopost goes north

Chronopost International, the express services provider that belongs to the French postal service La Poste, has founded a new subsidiary Chronopost International Norway AS, with its Norwegian partner Skandinavisk Transport System AS (STS), a medium sized freight forwarder.
Chronopost holds a 51% stake in the new joint venture. The company will be integrated in Chronoposts European network, which comprises 200 branches in 14 European countries and will also have access to Chronoposts proprietary CITS trakking and tracing system.
STS is expanding its nationwide branch netwrok inNorway, which will also be available to the new joint venture. Throughits subsidiary STS Logistik AB, STS has just opened an office in Gothenburg, Sweden, its 3rd in that country. In Denmark, it also operates branches in Copenhagen and Ikast. The UK market is covered by the recently established STS Logistics Ltd with branches in London, Manchester and Hull.
