New VP of Delivery Experience for Amazon
Maria Renz, who has served as Technical Advisor to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos for the past two years, has been appointed to a new role as “Vice President of Delivery Experience”. As Technical Advisor, Renz was the Amazon CEO’s shadow/right hand, sitting in on all his major meetings and sharing his itinerary. Technical Advisor to the CEO is a highly-prized role at Amazon and former holders tend to go on to manage important company initiatives. Sources report that Renz’s new appointment demonstrates how much emphasis the online giant is placing on its delivery infrastructure.
As her LinkedIn profile shows, Renz has been a long-serving Amazon executive. She joined the company in 1999 and her roles have included: Vice President and General Manager, Physical Media & Canada; Director Marketing Communications; Director, Health, Beauty & Grocery; Vice President Shoes & Jewelry, President Endless and Woot, Founder and President MyHabit; Vice President and General Manager, Physical Media & Canada; and CEO of Quidsi.
