SCG and Yamato team up for parcel delivery service

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) has teamed up with Yamato Asia to launch a parcel delivery service, SCG Express, according to local sources. Nithi Pattarachoke, vice president for the domestic market at SCG Cement-Building Materials, reportedly told local media that the joint venture aims to open 110 service outlets in Thailand by the end of the year.

SGC Express is looking to market itself as a provider of specialist services, such as temperature controlled deliveries.

“We will continue to build awareness of SCG Express among our key target groups, namely online sellers in business-to-customer segment, online buyers and sellers who are engaged in customer-to-customer transactions, and the general public,” Nithi was quoted as saying.

“Our communication will be focused on the strengths in terms of service quality and attentive care to maximise customer satisfaction, as well as a readily strong team of more than 130 sales drivers with the capability to handle up to 5,000 parcels a day.”
