Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics (SPPAL) officially opened its new production site in Constance, Germany, yesterday (20 February). SPPAL said it has made extensive improvements to the site – “from intelligent factory layout to well thought-out production and assembly processes, resulting, among other things, in shorter throughput times”.

“We are proud of this modern production site where we manufacture innovative products and solutions for our customers all around the world,” said Michael Reichle, CEO of Siemens Postal, Parcel & Airport Logistics at the inaugural ceremony.

“Bringing the development and manufacture of our products together under one roof is a decisive success factor. It enables us to efficiently develop innovative and forward-looking system concepts for logistical sorting processes ready for commercial maturity.

“Thanks to the quality products we produce here as well as our automation expertise and long years of experience in software we are able to help our customers benefit from trends such as the booming e-commerce business, growing mobility worldwide and Industry 4.0.”
