WMX delegates prepare to “embrace disruption”
The World Mail & Express Americas Conference & Exhibition is taking placing at Miami’s Biltmore Hotel this week. The theme of this year’s conference is “Embracing Disruption”: delegates will look at how digitalisation, innovative technologies and new delivery models present both challenges and opportunities for the post and parcel industry.
The conference programme will get underway this morning with a plenary session in which postal leaders will offer their perspectives on how the industry is adopting new strategies in the face of the disruptive forces that are re-shaping the mail and express sector.
This will be followed by a session focusing in more detail on the emerging technologies, with presentations on the use of parcel boxes, the Internet of Things (I0T) and the role that robots could play in the last mile.
The afternoon sessions will examine the continuing growth of e-commerce, and offer regional perspectives on strategic issues.
