DX “considering options” following super hub snub

DX Group has announced that it is “considering its options”, after its proposed plans for the development of a new central hub at a site in Essington, in the West Midlands, were again declined at a local authority planning hearing. The hearing was held on Tuesday (28 February). In a statement issued yesterday (1 March), DX said that it is consulting with “its stakeholders” and the options could include “the development of another site”.

The members of South Staffordshire Council’s planning committee expressed concerns over traffic congestion and air pollution, as well as arguing that the £36m project was “inappropriate” for a green belt area.
