FedEx Express expands First Overnight coverage across US

FedEx has expanded its FedEx First Overnight service to more than 4,400 zip codes across the US. With this expansion, said FedEx, the service now reaches more than 32,000 zip codes for next-business day delivery, representing 92% of the business population in the US.

“The expansion of FedEx First Overnight will help us continue to meet the growing demand of business-to-business customers requiring timely, next-day early delivery,” said David Payton, vice president of marketing at FedEx Services.

The service provides next-business day delivery by 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. to most areas and by 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and now introducing 2 p.m. to additional extended areas, depending on the destination’s zip code. Shippers in the newly expanded zip codes who traditionally used FedEx Priority Overnight can upgrade time-critical shipments to FedEx First Overnight.
