Letter bomb explodes in IMF Paris office

A letter bomb has exploded at the Paris office of the International Monetary Fund (MF) , injuring the employee who opened it. Staff were evacuated from the building.

The French president Francois Hollande said that incident was a “terrorist attack”.

Sources report the letter had been delivered by post.

Meanwhile, the German finance ministry in Berlin intercepted a parcel bomb sent to Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble on Wednesday.

A group called the Conspiracy of Fire Cells reportedly claimed responsibility for the German device.
