Rail terminals could ease M60 jams

A report commissioned by Whitehall‘s Office of the North West has called for new rail freight terminals in the Manchester area.
The M60 Jetts (Junction Eighteen to Twelve STudy) suggests terminals at Agecroft, Parkside, Carrington and Heywood would help to transfer freight from the busy M60. The report also calls for segregation of long-distance M62 traffic from M60 local traffic and ‘area-wide charging post 2011‘.
