Posti and SOL to establish joint venture for in-house logistics
Posti and Solemo Oy (SOL) have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture focused on providing customers in-house logistics. Jukka Rosenberg, SVP, Parcel and Logistics Services at Posti, said that the aim of the joint venture is to support the growth of Posti’s logistics services and supply chain solutions. The joint venture will create new jobs in logistics.
“Our customers have been asking for professional in-house logistics service solutions on the customer’s premises for a long time now,” said Rosenberg.
The joint venture offers logistics services on the customers’ premises, using their processes and systems. Typical tasks include reception and picking of goods, handling and combining, and in-house logistics in industrial production, including packaging, sending and pre-installations.
Posti said that the planned joint venture will not affect its joint operations, transport services, postal services or other services. It will not offer temporary recruitment solutions, but provide services primarily for the customers of Posti’s Supply Chain Solutions.
Before the joint venture can be established, it must be approved by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority. The aim is to start the operations in May.
Posti said that more information on the joint venture will be released on 3 May or after the approval by the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.
