Dematic opens new HQ for Northern Europe
Dematic – the provider of integrated supply chain automated technology, software and services – has opened a new head office building for Northern Europe in Adderbury, Oxfordshire. The company said that the five-mile move from its previous base in the town of Banbury to the new 49,000 sq ft building will provide “space to grow” and offer the 150 office-based staff the latest in hi-tech facilities.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on today (25th May) attended by Post&Parcel, John Baysore, President & CEO of Dematic, said the new facility was “a strong confirmation of Dematic’s continued commitment to the UK and North European markets.”
Baysore continued: “The warehouse automation sector is making great strides in developing the technology required to meet the challenges of the omnichannel revolution and Industry 4.0. Automation, artificial intelligence and robotics have pivotal roles to play in fulfilling those needs. Here, in this modern, state-of-the-art facility, we have committed wholeheartedly to the future demands of our customers in Northern Europe by building a hub that supports creativity, develops knowledge and delivers technical excellence.”
The new building has nearly double the space of the company’s old Banbury site, and houses The Dematic Academy, with a suite of conference facilities for training engineers, customers and employees. Close by on the ground floor is a ‘live’ exhibition showroom showcasing Dematic’s intralogistics solutions.
The new site is also home to Dematic’s 24/7 Customer Response Centre.
Headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI, Dematic is a member of KION Group.
