France's La Poste hopes to raise current 17.5% stake in CNP Assurances

France’s state-owned postal service La Poste chairman Jean-Paul Bailly said he hopes to raise the business’ stake in the life insurance company CNP Assurances beyond the current level of around 17.5 pct.

He was speaking at a news conference giving details of La Poste’s full-year results.

The company earlier reported full-year net profit of 34 mln eur for 2002 compared with a loss of 95 mln the year before. Sales rose 1.8 pct to 17.33 bln eur over the period, La Poste said. On a constant structure basis, sales were up 1.5 pct.
