Fortec can now work in daylight

Pallet network operator Fortec has expanded its central hub in Rugby to more than 5,000sq metres, more than doubling capacity to 2,200 pallets.
The revamped hub will be Fortec’s first facility independent of parent company Geodis, which has moved its operation to an adjacent building.

Fortec has been expanding rapidly and is predicting volume growth of more than 50% in 2003. Director Rod Abrahams said: “We have come a long way in the past year.

“We now have the space to start using the hub in the daytime. We were limited before because we shared the hub with Geodis which used the site in the day.” Part of the £50,000 ( t73,500) project involved reconfiguring the site layout to allow vehicles a straight drive through, enabling more trucks to be processed.
