French post office goes ahead with savings plan

The French post office (La Poste) is planning to launch its employee-savings programme at the end of the month. It hopes to have attracted deposits to the value of 130m euros by the end of 2003, rising to 2.6bn euros in the longer term. According to the French financial press, the La Poste venture will need a partner and financial advisers if it is to succeed.
