Expansion for South African food delivery franchise network
South Africa-based Estate Food Services SA has reported that its recently-launched “Estate Delivery” franchise network is set for further expansion. “Estate Delivery” offers its customers grocery deliveries, bundled with postal and courier services. The service, which operates on a franchise basis, was launched in May this year. A spokesperson for EFS told Post&Parcel today that there are currently 15 franchises up and running in cities and towns across South Africa – and nine more franchises are due to come online after they have gone through the training programmes over the next few weeks.
According to a statement issued yesterday (29 August), Estate Delivery is working with brands such as Sasko, Sunbake, Parmalat, Clover and other major suppliers in South Africa.
The EFS spokesperson told Post&Parcel that “Estate Delivery” is just the first in a series of “franchise concepts” that the company will be rolling out over the next year. The next concept out of the blocks will be “Estate Fast Food Order”. The company will also be launching “Food Trucks”, “Food Trailers”, “Food Carts” and “Food Kiosk”. Clearly, all the franchise concepts revolve around the idea of food delivery – but the size of the vehicle can be scaled to suit the ambitions/budget of the franchisee, and the target audience.
